Cold Galvanizing - What is cold galvanizing?
Cold galvanizing is an alternative to hot dip galvanizing. Both cold galvanizing and hot dip galvanizing process are acceptable form of protecting steel against corrosion. The primary objective of these two processes is to apply zinc metal on a iron or steel surface. In cold galvanizing, the zinc particles are embedded in the paint coating, and this zinc enriched paint coat is bonded to the iron or steel, that acts as a barrier coat with sacrificial zinc protection of the iron and steel surface against rust and corrosion.
On the other hand, in the hot dip galvanizing process, zinc is kept molten in a huge zinc kettle. The iron and steel products after thoroughly cleaning in various chemicals are dipped into this molten zinc. Upon withdrawal of the iron and steel products from the molten zinc, this formation of zinc iron alloy layers are metallurgically bonded to the steel surface. The zinc sacrificially protect the base iron or steel against rust formation and corrosion. For further information, visit www.galvaco.com, the hot dip galvanizing specialist.

Repairing Galvanizing
Although the hot-dip galvanized coating is very resistant to damage, small voids or defects in the coating can occur during the galvanizing process or due to improper handling of the steel after galvanizing. Fortunately, Galvzinc cold galvanizing spray paint can be used to repair any damage that is done to already galvanized steels. Repairing hot-dip galvanized steel products is important because it ensures the longevity of the product, as well as ensures that a uniform barrier is maintained.
